Child cyclist hit by car in Walthamstow

A BOY has been taken to hospital after his pushbike was in a crash with a car. The teenager was taken by air ambulance to the Royal London Hospital after the accident in Fulbourne Road, Walthamstow, just after 4pm.

(Fulbourne Road is a busy and very unpleasant road to cycle on. The Council allows pavement parking on both sides of the road - a policy recently extended, to allow cars to park even closer to a junction - thereby encouraging speeding. There are no facilities for cyclists, other than an ASL at the junction with Forest Road, no restraints on speeding motorists and there is little space for vehicles safely to overtake cyclists.)
