An iconic cycle lane

Forest Road by the junction with South Countess Road E17. As there were no empty parking bays this driver double-parked in the cycle lane.

This cycle lane features in council literature extolling the cycling facilities of the London Borough of Waltham Forest. As far as I can tell there are no restrictions which would make it an offence to double-park like this. Needless to say the row of shops here are not supplied with even one cycle stand.

The cycle lane was originally located to the left of the row of parked cars (like this Waltham Forest cycle lane) but has now been relocated, to a more conventional design.
