‘a tyre from a passing lorry came loose and hit him’

A tragic father-of-eight was killed during his morning commute to work when a tyre from a passing lorry came loose and hit him, leaving him with fatal injuries. Robert Kerry, who worked as a stable hand, was waiting for his morning lift when the massive tyre knocked him off his feet and killed him.

The 54-year-old was thrown 12ft by the force of the tyre and suffered severe internal injuries, an inquest heard.
