It's green Tesco!

Sir Terry Leahy: "To turn Tesco green we aim to halve emissions from our group’s stores and distribution centres by 2020. To achieve these goals, we’ve changed every aspect of how Tesco operates."

That's why the Tesco superstore on Gainsborough Road E11 has parking for hundreds of cars and just four bicycle stands. (Only Tesco trolleys get a shelter. Because cyclists love refreshing rain which brightens up their saddles.) Well done, Sir Terry! How unfair that in one survey Respondents held BP, Tesco and British Airways most guilty of "greenwash" aimed at creating an eco-friendly corporate image.

Curiously, at one proposed new Tesco store Devon County Council agreed with Tesco's analysis of cycle parking provision, even though it fell short of East Devon District Council's requirements.
