Fantasy versus reality
Transport for London concluded in 2007 that 70 per cent of the potential increase in cycling would occur outside central London.
In other words, places like the London Borough of Waltham Forest. And who can doubt that this target will be achieved? Here's another stretch of the Borough's prize-winning 20 miles of cycle lanes, on the A112, yesterday.
Look carefully, and you'll see that the cycle lane incorporates not a double-yellow line but a triple one! Waltham Forest - for that little bit extra.
