Police take no action

The message from across Britain is that the cops are on the side of reckless drivers, and cyclists can expect little support or sympathy from them:

Kirsten Hey, Edinburgh:

I feel it is unlikely the police will do anything about it, seeing as they did nothing last year when a van pulled out of a side street straight into me, the driver claiming he hadn't seen me.

And this case of police declining to investigate further is quite extraordinary and scandalous.

However, in Brighton

Police have launched a crackdown on cyclists riding the wrong way down a one-way street.
