Martin Hollingsworth, senior highways officer, said: "The county council continues to promote cycling throughout Lincolnshire and the development of safe routes for cyclists is an important part of this. Motorists should not drive or park on cycle paths marked with a broken white line unless it is unavoidable.
"If drivers are judged to have parked unnecessarily, causing an obstruction to cyclists, the police are able to take action. Anyone who is concerned about cycle paths being obstructed should contact the police."
But when the Standard contacted Lincolnshire police their spokesman said parking in a cycle lane with a broken white line was not enforceable.
