In the past 48 hours two separate pairs of cyclists have been hit by car drivers, in each case one of the cyclists died.
For scandalously distorted reporting, which insinuates that both cyclists collided with the vehicle, this is hard to beat:
A cyclist was killed yesterday after crashing with a vehicle in Windsor Great Park.
The 25-year-old female cyclist was pronounced dead at the scene after hitting a burgundy Honda CR-V at 6pm in Sheet Street Road, near to the Rangers Gate Lodge.
A male cyclist was also involved in the collision but was uninjured.
Compare that version with this account of the same crash:
The cyclists were riding along Sheet Street Road in Windsor when a Honda CR-V struck them on Thursday.
One of the riders, a 25-year-old woman, was declared dead at the scene. The other male cyclist was unhurt.
The driver of the Honda, a 45-year-old woman, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and later released on bail.
