Protesters block road after cyclist killed

An irate mob on Monday blocked NH-23 for several hours in protest against the mowing down of a cyclist by a speeding bus at the railway level-crossing under the Balidih police station

The victim, Raghu Kapardar, was a resident of Chainpur village. He was rushed to Bokaro General Hospital (BGH) where doctors declared him brought dead.

Following the incident, the kin of the deceased along with local residents squatted on NH-23 and disrupted movement of traffic for several hours.
