Enfield Council cracks down on blue badge fraudsters

A WINCHMORE Hill mini-cab driver has received a three-month driving ban after admitting to using a disabled parking badge for free parking.

Councillor Chris Bond, cabinet member for the environment, said: "Blue Badges are for disabled drivers so they have easy access to help them live more independently.

"They are not there for able bodied me-me-me motorists who want to make their lives easier."

Hasa was bought to court as part of
Enfield Council’s ongoing war on Blue Badge fraud.

There is no such war in Waltham Forest, where blue badge fraudsters can relax, safe in the knowledge that no council officer or parking attendant will ever check up on them – nor will any PCSO (if you ask them they say it’s not part of their job description – any more than enforcing Advanced Stop Lines for cyclists is).
