Hazardous walking on Hoe Street

I've seen this before at this location (Hoe Street E17, close to the junction with Milton Road). A lorry parks at the kerb and the arm of an articulated digger in the back swings out over the pavement to excavate inside a derelict building. It empties material into the back of the lorry. There is just one man operating this machinery and he hasn't got a clue about pedestrian safety. But then judging by the sign in the cycle lane he thinks he's in the USA. Needless to say there was no attempt afterwards to clean up all the mud left scattered across the pavement. Yesterday.
