Violence against children

If knives were involved, this would be big news. Because it was cars, it wasn't.

A 14-YEAR-OLD cyclist was airlifted to hospital with multiple injuries after a crash involving his bike and a car.West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to Derrington Lane in Stafford at 3.25pm on Saturday.

A 13-year-old boy is fighting for his life in hospital following a weekend of road accidents which left six people injured. The teenager suffered serious head injuries after colliding with a car as he cycled along a road in Oldham. The boy, who was in a "critical" condition last night, was riding his bike on busy Hollins Road when he crashed with the Volkswagen Polo on Saturday evening. (Typical prejudiced reporting. I rather suspect the car crashed into the cyclist rather than the reverse.)

Five teenagers have been injured, two seriously, after being hit by a car while walking alongside a Lincolnshire road.A Lincolnshire Police spokesman said the group had apparently been walking single-file along the verge or at the edge of the carriageway.
