It's the anti-clutter council!

The super thing about Sheffield stands is that you can lock a bike on either side. Except on those occasions when the other side is being used for something more important, such as storage.

Today the market traders have excelled themselves, dumping no less than eleven wooden pallets on Westbury Road E17. The ones in the middle (below) present an exciting challenge to pedestrians who are visually impaired.

When the council announced a grand 'anti-clutter' initiative I foolishly thought it meant ensuring that pavements would be kept free of obstructions. Whereas what it really meant was that pavements and cycle stands are cluttered by pedestrians and people with bicycles, whose primitive mode of transport must be discouraged at all costs.
