The Road Haulage Industry and lorries in a dangerous condition

THE father of a teenage cyclist killed when a wheel came off a lorry says it is right that the haulage industry should foot the bill for new safety checks proposed by the Department of Transport.

James's death was not an accident, it was caused by an operator of a fleet of large goods vehicles failing to keep a vehicle in a roadworthy condition and there is a court conviction that confirms this.
