Cyclist killed by lorry in Staines

A CYCLIST was killed after an accident with an HGV at 6am this morning (August 16).

The fatality was on the A308 Kingston Road in Staines, near the roundabout with Fordbridge Road.

Or as BBC News Surrey puts it

The man, believed to be in his 40s, collided with the heavy goods vehicle

Cyclists – when will they ever stop hurling themselves at lorries?

Whenever one of these tiresome cyclists or pedestrians gets killed the important question is: how will this affect people in cars? In this case minimum inconvenience appears to have been caused:

The westbound carriageway between the roundabout and Ashford Road was closed for a time but has since reopened.
