Hillside collides with Mel Gibson

Mel Gibson has crashed his Maserati sports car into a hillside in Malibu.

Luckily for Mel the local police take a very sympathetic view of the threat which hillsides in Malibu can pose to innocent Maserati drivers:

California Highway Patrol officer Leland Tang said the crash was "non-intentional."

He said: "At that location and on that road, it could have happened to anybody.
