The great cycling boom: just fancy that!

Chris Peck, Policy Coordinator at CTC, said

“At the same time as cycling is increasing, car use is steadily falling. Expenditure on new cars is down by 13% in three years,
while sales of bikes have soared by 25% over the same period."

Mark Walmsley of the Association of Cycle Traders said

"There have been some pockets of the country which have seen an increase in people buying bikes, for example in London, but nationally,
there has been no boom. All of this hype that's going on is rubbish."
