Accused road rage cyclist acquitted

A jury was told Mr Pitt cried "Do you want some, big boy?" and, although PC Wiltshire identified himself as a police officer, the 55-year-old cyclist was claimed to have punched him in the face and fractured his left eye socket.

Mr Pitt, of Great Ann Street, St Jude's, denied inflicting grievous bodily harm in May – claiming the officer was in his personal space and he acted in self-defence.

A jury at Bristol Crown Court found him not guilty.
