Squalor, obstruction, danger, pavement theft – Happy New Year from Waltham Forest!

New Year’s Day in Waltham Forest – an overflowing litter bin, a pavement cluttered with poorly sited street furniture, objects in the carriageway which force cyclists to veer away from the kerb and risk being hit by an overtaking lorry. Oh, and cars with all four wheels on the footway, parked there with the blessing of a Council which believes pavements are for vehicles, not for walking. This not only frees up the road for speeding but is a classic example of children’s loss of play space. Pennant Terrace E17, junction with Carr Road.
