A CYCLIST has died following a road traffic collision near Ilminster at the weekend.
The incident happened at Boxstone Hill, Whitelackington, at about 7.30pm on Saturday.
The 37-year-old man, who is believed to be from the area, was cycling on the old A303 towards Ilminster when he was in collision with a Saab travelling in the opposite direction. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

POLICE have issued an urgent appeal for witnesses following a road traffic collision near Ilminster last night. At about 7.15pm a Saab vehicle was seen travelling along the old A303 towards South Petherton when it overtook another car at Boxstone Hill.
Shortly afterwards the Saab was involved in a collision with another road user.
Police are now seeking the identity of the car that was overtaken.

An 18-year-old cyclist hit by a car on the A1079 remains in a stable condition at Hull Royal Infirmary. Police are appealing for information about the incident that happened on Thursday, February 4 at 10.40pm.
An orange Fiat Punto was travelling along the A1079 in the direction of Market Weighton, when it collided with the male cyclist.

A FEMALE cyclist is in intensive care after a collision with a van last night. The 49-year-old and the driver of the Fiat Ducato van were both travelling eastbound in Drumshoreland Road, Pumpherston at around 6pm.
Police said that the woman was knocked on to the bonnet and windscreen of the van before falling on to the road as a result of the collision.
Paramedics attended and took her to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, where she is being treated for head and chest injuries. Her condition is described as serious.
