Stansted Express shocker

Posters for the Stansted Express were banned by the Advertising Standards Authority today for wrongly suggesting tourists would be whisked into central London in 35 minutes.

A 35-minute train trip from the airport goes only as far as the Tottenham Hale trading estate, seven miles from the centre.

And don’t expect a gleaming Eurostar-style silver bullet train, either. The Stansted Express is a grubby old hulk which looks like it’s been loaned out by the Transport Museum.
