J566 CPU, one of those old-fashioned camper vans, male driver steering with one hand on the wheel while engrossed in conversation and holding a mobile phone in the other, while he crossed over Palmerston Road from Elmsdale Road into Northcote Road E17 at 9.35 am this morning. While I was jotting down the details the male driver of a black car came by steering with one hand while chatting into a handheld mobile phone.

On Hoe Street this afternoon in the space of seven minutes I spotted no less than five drivers talking into handheld mobile phones while driving along a street dense with pedestrians.

Law and order has completely broken down on the streets of Walthamstow and the Metropolitan Police couldn’t give a toss.
