Exciting news. This Sustrans-recommended Olympic Greenways walking and cycling route linking Leytonstone and Wanstead at the Green Man roundabout has opened even before the consultation period has ended.
Pedestrians and cyclists can now enjoy a full range of Olympic activities at this site, including swimming and the (very) long jump. For those exhausted by this exhilarating watery crossing, a sofa provides a handy refuge on which to wait while rescue comes.
Caution. Please remember to bring a wetsuit and a mobile phone if attempting to 'walk' or 'cycle' at the Green Man roundabout underpass system. A dustpan and brush are also highly recommended for dealing with the extensive scatterings of broken glass.
