What hit William Morris?

Something has smashed into the railings to the right of the entrance to the William Morris Gallery on Forest Road, ripping out a section and tearing up some of the brickwork. Presumably a driver who 'lost control', though there has been nothing in the local paper about it. If the driver was protected by air bags and suffered no injury it won't even enter the crash statistics. But this stretch of Forest Road is deadly, with a bend and lawless high speed driving.

The railings look to me like historic original railings, not bogus 'heritage' ones.
