Crown Prosecution Service no friend of cyclists

Byrne was due to go on trial charged with dangerous driving, but he admitted careless driving and this was accepted by the prosecution.

How kind of the Crown Prosecution Service to smooth the judicial process in this way.

And apart from all the other aspects of this case, it’s interesting, isn’t it, that a driver gets fined

£100 for having four defective tyres

Why would any motorist bother maintaining their vehicle when the fine for having it in a dangerous condition is less than the cost of looking after it?
