Elderly driver crash news

One of the many topics excluded from discussion by politicians and the mass media in the election campaign is the high number of geriatric drivers who crash their cars, under a system whereby the only person who has to verify fitness to drive is the driver.

Shoppers ran screaming to get out of the way as a car reversed out of its parking space and then mowed straight into a town's bustling market stalls today.

A total of 14 people were injured, three seriously, when the silver car ploughed into the stalls underneath the town hall archways in Bridgnorth, Shropshire.
