The family of a one-year-old boy killed in a hit-and-run crash blamed the local council for not doing more to stop joyriders.
Aashir Zeeshan was knocked down and killed as he crossed a road outside a relative's house in Barking.
Mrs Rizwan said residents had written to the council to complain about a lack of traffic calming measures in the one-way street, which she said was used by joyriders racing each other.
She said: “The council should do something to stop these joyriders but they have done nothing. There are a lot of people with children in this road and it is not safe. People have written but nothing has happened.
“These people were travelling very fast — we want speed bumps so no one else has to go through this.”
