Vehicular cycling: latest

A cyclist has been killed on a road in Wiltshire after being hit from behind by a car.

The victim, who is not thought to live in the UK, was hit by a silver Mercedes on the eastbound carriageway of the A303 near Yarnbury Castle and died at the scene.


The accident happened just before 1500 BST on Saturday

A 64-year-old cyclist suffered serious injuries after he was involved in a head on collision with a Land Rover. The collision happened at Church Road, Thurlton, near Loddon, at 3.10pm on Friday by the village's primary school.

The cyclist has been named by police as Hugh Sistern.

The silver Land Rover Discovery had moved to the offside of Church Road to pass parked cars when it collided with Mr Sistern who was going in the other direction.
