On this sleepy cul-de-sac in Chingford you'll find this sign at the entrance to a pathway. If you ignore it and walk down it you come to this. There are lighting columns, which appear to be local authority ones.

At the other end of this more or less straight pathway (below), on Chingford Avenue E4, is a sign reading 'Public Footpath'. Curious. Is the first sign a wilful attempt to deter people from using a public footpath? Shouldn't there be a 'Public Footpath' sign there instead of one reading 'Private - No Throughway'? It looks very much like it but it's impossible to be sure because this crap council has never published a map of local public footpaths and rights of way for anyone who enjoys walking.
