Chingford man charged with hit and run cyclist killing

A MAN has been charged over the hit-and-run death of a cyclist in Gerrards Cross.

Ali Altuntas, 36, from Leadale Avenue, London is charged with causing death by dangerous driving and perverting the course of public justice.

There is nothing in the news reports to say that his licence has been suspended until the trial, so presumably he's free to continue driving. If found guilty of these very serious offences, you can be quite certain he will not be disqualified for life, but will be back on the roads after a few years. The right to drive is regarded by the British judicial system as the most basic human right of them all.
