Bus driver kills pedestrian on pavement

A 65-year-old man died after being hit by a bus that mounted the pavement.

Ambulance and police were called at about 10.30am on Saturday after the man was knocked down by the number 42 at the junction of Albany Road and Thurlow Street in Walworth.

A police spokesman said: “A route 42 single-decker bus was turning into Albany Road when it mounted the pavement and collided with some street furniture and a 65-year-old man.”
